10.21.08 New Lomos, Webby Work and The Ole' Switcheroo

On hiatus? Not entirely. I finished a website for my artist friend, Jessica Niello. She is a San Francisco painter with an eye for animals. Her URL is up on my "LINKS" page. I am especially fond of the "Barn Owl" painting. Wow!

So what else have I been up too? Well I have been making lots of pictures with my Diana+ camera for the "LOMOGRAPHY" page. I have about 20 new images up so please roll on over to the "ART" page for a look. In addition to new photos I also reconfigured the site a bit. I have been obsessed with photography and I am spending a majority of my artistic endeavors involved with lomography and the art of pinhole exposures. So I played the ole' switcheroo with some of the navagation. And... I will soon be the owner of a NEW Lomo Compact Automat. So be on the lookout for a shaggy man with Lomo as you might be the next subject on his chopping block. Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... <3

08.01.08 Who is the GHOST_MC?

Well, alright. Almost done. There is only the matter of the "DESIGN" page to take care of and the site will be complete. Everything right now is functional and indeed there will be constant updates from here on out with new artwork, news, links, etc. If you are curious as to who or what the GHOST_MC is then hop on over to the "ABOUT" page and read aloud to all your mates.

It has been a joy to work with HTML and CSS. Most of what I completed here I pieced together with tutorials and code that I found on the internet. I have posted hyperlinks to many of these helpful sites over on the "LINKS" page. Love you all. <3

07.30.08 Linking

Hi Ho! I am now populating my "LINKS" page. Go see who and or what I decided to link to thus far. If you got a link for me please send it my way. Go to the "CONTACTS" page and drop me a line. (I must be talking to myself, because nobody is visiting my site right now. LOL) <3

07.28.08 New Lomos and New Illustrations

Hello. I have added some new Lomos and some new Illustrations. Just follow the art link and navigate your way through the thumbnails to see what's new. I am very proud to have recently designed a tattoo for some very dear friends of mine. It is the first thumbnail in the "ILLUSTRATION" section of the site. It was a joy to compose and I am truly honored. Also if you look in the "LOMOGRAPHY" section of the site you will see some new photos. Some were taken from a recent wedding in Downsville, WI, a visit to the Crucible's Fire Arts Festival in Oakland, CA, and some random shots here and there. Take a look. Beyond that a weekend trip to Three Rivers, CA is in the works and I am surely going to be working towards the completion of the site at that time. Big Smiles! <3

07.03.08 Animate Your .gifs

Ta Daa! No the website isn't finished, silly. That would be amazing though wouldn't it. instead I have resigned myself to these funny little updates every time I do something significant on the webby. So what is the significance? Well I have completely customized my lightbox feature for the portfolio of images that are popping up in my "art" section. That is what is great about lightbox. The user has complete control over the look and feel of the display. the last little bit of configuration was making the animated .gif that you see as the preloader before the images pop up. Animated .gifs are a really simple to make with Photoshop CS3. Here are the links to "lightbox" and the "animated .gif" tutorials that helped me. Love you all and I will be updating until the END OF TIME!!! LOL <3

06.27.08 getting there

I have added more to the "art" section. You will now see that "ILLUSTRATIONS" are starting to populate and the "LOMOGRAPHY" portion of the art page has grown lots since the first post about the new construction. In addition there is also some functioning PHP on the "contact" page. Hooray! So if you happen to check out the site go to "contact" and let me know what you think so far. I am making no promises on the launch or completion but I am hoping to have most everything in place by the beginning of July.

Back to work. <3

the webby... is underconstruction

Hello everyone. So it has been some time since I have had www.kcskinner.com up and running. I decided to tear down the old site as it was a constant reminder to me that I wasn't a very good web designer three years ago. It seemed to resonate as a separate art piece instead of a functional portfolio. Those days are over and I am no longer lamenting the destruction of what once was. I have learned a few tricks since the year 2005 and I am getting anxious to show them off. In the coming weeks I will be puzzle piecing the site together. Stay tuned and in the meantime check out the "art" link for a sneak preview of things to come... <3
